Sternbergias are in full bloom all over Israel! Especially appealing because they appear in November when other flowers have yet to blossom, sternbergia blooms resemble large bells, have no leaves, and burst full-blown out of the ground. They last only a few weeks, so come now, before they disappear!  One fantastic site: on the wilderness slopes above Wadi Machreb, near Ma’ale Rehav’am in Gush Etzion.
